Vehicles in German Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Police Report

Approximately fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Vehicles, walls and postboxes were defaced, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they announced in a statement.

Law enforcement report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.

The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.

Officers then located multiple other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.

Police say preliminary tests show the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no lead as to its source; investigators are presently not cognizant of any harm in connection with the event," they commented.

City officials announced they were working "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the community for details.

An important official commented the incident left him speechless and needed to be solved quickly.

"This incident strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on online, recalling the death of nine people by a gunman aiming at individuals of migrant background in 2020.
